Our school biodiversity garden was officially opened and blessed by Fr. McCartan. It was a very special occasion and we were joined by members of the local community, parents, staff and pupils from our Eco Club.
Some of the pupils read very thoughtful prayers during the blessing and Mrs McLoughlin read the final reflection. Fr McCartan blessed the garden and remarked on it being a place of quiet reflection.
Mr Lavery highlighted the name of our garden, Gairdín an Aiséirí (Garden of the Resurrection) and how it was appropriately named as the area has been rejuvenated into a wonderful space.
Mr Lavery also thanked everyone who contributed in any way to development of the garden. A special word of thanks to Ryan McGee (past pupil) for his vision and design of the garden. It was a fantastic project from start to finish and we are very proud of the final outcome. The biodiversity garden is a beautiful space for all and is a place for nature and people to grow.
