Canavan Cup

What a day of Gaelic football at the Canavan Cup today! Over 280 primary school pupils from across all our partner primary schools came together for a feast of football in howling winds, torrential rain, and even the odd burst of sunshine.

Despite the challenging conditions, spirits were high all day long and the standard of football on display was outstanding. After 80+ games, we crowned our 2026 champions!

Girls Shield Final: St Mary’s Cabragh defeated St Patrick’s Aughadarragh

Boys Shield Final: St Joseph’s Galbally defeated St Brigid’s Altamuskin

Girls Cup Final & Boys Cup Final: St Malachy’s Glencull faced Oliver Plunkett Beragh in both finals, with St Malachy’s Glencull coming out on top in two fantastic games to be crowned Canavan Cup Boys and Girls Champions 2026
