Creative Writing Competition

Well done to Year 9 student Caitlin O'Hanlon who won the first St Ciaran's Creative Writing Competition!

Caitlin is pictured with the team of A Level English students who, alongside teachers, judged the competition.

Caitlin was commended for the honest and realistic style of her narrative poem and was presented with a poetry anthology in recognition of her achievement. The writing produced by all entrants was of an extremely high standard and the English Department are working on a trip in the third term to reward all the students who participated in the competition.

Well done to Dearbhla Quinn in Year 8! One of Dearbhla’s brilliant poems has been chosen for publication by Young Writers. Dearbhla's poem was selected from entrants across the UK and Ireland and will appear in 'The Glitch - Enchanted Tales.'
