GCSE Results 2023

There was tremendous joy here today for GCSE results morning on Thursday 24th August. St Ciaran’s would like to congratulate all their pupils who achieved great success in both their GCSE and BTEC qualifications. This is a true reflection of all their hard work and dedication over the last two years.

It is pleasing to see that for the 2022/2023 academic year, 95% of pupils achieved five or more A*- C grades. It is worth noting that this is an increase from last year’s results, which is further testament to the pupils’ ongoing commitment to their studies. Additionally, it is remarkable to see that 80% of students achieved seven or more A*- C grades.

Mr Lavery expressed his pride in seeing his pupils’ success, “We are very happy with the results, particularly as this group of pupils have been through a disruptive time during the pandemic. They have shown great resilience and we are appreciative of the support provided the exams boards in helping the pupils and teachers with exam preparation. As always pupil success is helped by high parental expectations and support. Our pupils, staff and parents have worked cohesively together to ensure our young people reach their full potential.”

The BBC News NI team had their reporter in on the morning, capturing pupils’ reactions and interviewing students on their excellent results – with some pupils even opening their results live on radio! If you missed their live radio appearance on Good Morning Ulster, you can listen back to the link below (starting at 2 hours, 23 minutes):

We would also like to thank McMoos Icecream for providing treats on the lovely, sunny morning, in recognition of the great results.
