Netball Our Year 10 netball team won all of their games in the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball blitz and are now through to the Cup Finals! Our Year 11 netball team won all of their games today in the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball blitz. They are now through to the Cup Finals! The Year 12 netball team participated in the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball blitz. The girls won all of their games and played some excellent netball throughout the day! Bake With Me – Nomad
The Home Economics Department hosted "Bake along with me," featuring Helen from Nomad. We welcomed our special guest Helen - the talented owner of Nomad, a beloved local coffee stop, known for its homemade treats and speciality coffee. Students had the unique opportunity to bake alongside a professional, learning firsthand tips and techniques. Heart Screening
From the Heart: A Gift of Health and Hope! The first day of a two-day Early Heart Screening Programme took place on Saturday 11th October ’25 in St. Ciaran’s College, Ballygawley. Twenty-two students availed of the opportunity to be screened by Dr Dermott Austin, Clinical Director of Loughview Health. Primary School Principals Visit
We welcomed our partner primary school principals for attending our annual meeting. It was great to catch up and discuss Yr 8 transition.


French Trip
37 pupils and 4 teachers made the journey to Paris, France to explore the sights and immerse themselves in the French culture and language. The first evening was spend in a Paris restaurant, and taking in a few of the famous sites of the beautiful city. Our pupils had an unforgettable day exploring the Stade de France, soaking up the views from the Sacré-Cœur, wandering through Montmartre, and enjoying a little shopping to end the day! International E-Waste Day
International E-Waste Day was on the 14th October. Thank you to everyone who supported The Great Cable Challenge. We successfully collected 152kg of cables over a two week period and another 35.8kg of batteries were saved from landfill. Year 14 Retreat
September 2025 - What a magnificent group of young people! Our theme was "pilgrims of hope" and the pupils lived this out both physically and spiritually. Thanks to all of our students. Running Club
A huge welcome to all our new and returning athletes at this year's Running Club. All new members welcome to build upon existing fitness levels or even to begin your fitness journey. Running Club takes place every Wednesday after school.


Shared Education
Year 12 RE As part of our Shared Education initiative, some of our Year 12 GCSE Religious Education students had the opportunity to visit Crumlin Road Gaol in Belfast as part of their GCSE Religious Education studies. Be Strong Online
Well done to the SCC Be Strong Online Ambassadors - Seainin, Sophie-Ellen, Tomas and Connor - who presented at the recent assemblies to inform students about the fantastic work the Be Strong Online Ambassadors do in the school and to encourage some more pupils to join the team this year. New Driver NI
Many thanks to David from New Driver NI who presented to our Year 13 students. David gave very useful information for those who are starting off on the road for the first time. Topics included - Staying Safe, Buying a Car, Insurance, Modifications, Maintenance and Motoring Offences. The students are encouraged to sign up to the 'New Driver Pledge' also. University Information Days
Thanks to Niamh Scullion from Queen's University Belfast for speaking with our Year 14 students about what the university has to offer. Senior Prize Giving
On Thursday night we were delighted to host our annual Senior Prize Giving Ceremony. We were honoured to have Mr Chris Quinn as our Guest speaker, who is the NI Commissioner for Children and Young People. Post-16 Gaeltacht Trip
Turas Gaeltachta Our A Level Irish pupils had an action packed residential trip in Gaoth Dobhair this week starting with surfing on Carrickfinn beach. The students also visited areas of interest for their A Level studies including Foras na Gaeilge offices, the home of Clannad and Crolly distillery, as well as attending a céilí in Teach Jack. Irish Open
28 pupils attended the first round of the Irish Open at the K-Club in Straffan, Co. Kildare last Thursday. The pupils enjoyed following the eventual Irish Open winner, Rory McIlroy and all the other top players in the field. Our 28 keen golfers also gained an inspirational insight to the career of the grand slam winner.


HIP Psychology

Feast of St Ciaran
The 9th of September marks a special day in our school calendar. Today, we celebrate the feast day of St Ciaran, and to mark the occasion our new Year 8 pupils were presented with their finger rosaries by principal Mr Lavery. The tradition of presenting Year 8 pupils with their rosary is to remind them of the school’s motto, 'Fortis in Fide' (strong in faith) and that God will walk with them in their journey through their school years.
